First of all I am glad to bring to your knowledge that We through Akola Netradan & Netraropan Sanshodhan Kendra has contributed about 2000 eyes in the service of Humanity. Looking at the present statistics there are around 45 million blinds all across the world of which 15 millions are from India alone. Out of this 15 million blind people about 4 million people are suffering from Corneal Blindness which is one of the most common causes of Blindness in India. India shoulders the largest burden of Global Blindness (Corneal) of about 4 million across the country with 30,000 new cases being added each year.

At present approximately 35,000 Corneas are collected in the country every year, whereas 1, 50,000 are required annually to combat Corneal Blindness. The cost of Corneal Transplantation (Keratoplasty) & Unavailability of Corneas make it practically impossible for the unprivileged blind people to access these medical aids. Creating awareness amongst the masses & encouraging them to pledge their eyes for donation therefore is of paramount importance.
