Activities of the Trust

Akola Netradan and Netraropan Sanshodhan Kendra is a non government organization working mainly in the field of blindness control & its eradication since 1987. Netra Kamlanjali eye Hospital is a charitable hosp. run by our trust since 1999 on No profit No loss Basis & all our activities are regulated from the hospital. Netra Kamlanjali is a full fledged hospital with 2 OT’s, Special Rooms, General ward, O P D & all modern Ophthalmic equipments required to render our best services to the society. Our primary objective is to increase eye donation through public awareness & highlighting the importance of eye donation. We motivate & encourage people & let them know the righteousness of eye donation. Till now we have collected around 2000 eye balls through our mission of after death eye donation from various localities of Ak0la. Our trust is committed towards providing the best quality ophthalmic care to everyone irrespective of their caste, religious & social status. Till now we have arranged about 700 free eye checkup & screening camps at various urban & remote areas of Akola, Buldhana, Washim & Amravati Districts, Of which about 1,50,000  peoples have been benefited. We had also arranged camps for the screening & eye checkup of children at various schools & educate the staff members of the respective schools about the common ocular problems & how to make out whether a child is facing any visual defect .We also distribute Vit-A to the school going children to prevent them from Night Blindness, Xerophthalmia & other ocular problems. Looking at the increasing number of Road Traffic Accidents & keeping in mind about the road safety we also arranged eye checkup camps for the Auto Rickshaw & Trucks – Tempo drivers which indeed is the need of the day & we were shocked to know that about 35% of drivers examined were found to have some or the other visual defect.
Till now we have performed Cataract Surgeries on around 2000 patients on no loss no profit basis screened at various camps arranged by us & 1000 free Cataract Surgeries in co-ordination with District Blindness Control Society, Akola. We had also arranged many Eye Donation Awareness & Eye Donation Pledging Camps at various Urban & Rural areas of Akola, Buldhana, Washim & Amravati Districts which has definitely helped us in broadening the peoples view towards this very social cause.
Other than Opthal specialty we also arranged Blood Donation camps, Diabetes Detection camps, Anemia camps, Body Donation Awareness camps & many more.
